UNDRAFTED

Before I get into Part Five of Undrafted, I want to take a few moments to address the comments I’ve been receiving in the last few parts: thank you! I love journalism, it’s what I want to dedicate my life to. However, it’s always difficult describing that to people without receiving criticism. But when I see the positive feedback from you all, it makes my day, and it gives me a little more hope in myself, so once again, thank you! Entering my Week Four matchup, I knew a win would be vital. If I want to have any hope of pushing this team to the postseason and beyond, I will need every ounce of luck I can find. With my massive signing in Stefon Diggs, could I recover from my horrific Week Three performance, or would I continue my head first spiral into last place? Before you read Part Two, make sure you've checked out the first part. If you haven’t read Part One, click here!
I want to thank everyone who read Part One on Reddit and on my website! The feedback was amazing and I can't believe how many people are starting their own Undrafted Challenge! I can’t wait to keep going, this should be fun! Now with that out of the way, let’s start with Part Two By Steven Keehner David Johnson, Le'Veon Bell, and Julio Jones. What do all three players have in common? They’re all considered the “Go-To” top picks in drafts this season. When thinking of our favorites aspects of Fantasy Football, we look toward the draft. We spend weeks, months even, watching tape, discussing, and evaluating every player. Just so when the draft comes around, we can hope to find that one player, that one diamond in the rough that can lead us to glory. But as many experienced players know, no fantasy league is won on Draft Day; while having your studs secured is helpful, it’s the moves you make through the Waiver Wire and by trading that can make a Champion. So I was thinking, is it possible for somebody to win a league without drafting any players at all? A few minutes later, I was in a random ESPN league draft lobby and ready to embark on this experiment!

Undrafted: A Fantasy Football ExperimentHave you ever wondered if you could win a league, without drafting a single player? No? Okay sorry. But seriously, this is an experiment I’m running to see how far this idea could go. Using only Undrafted (roll credits) Free Agents and trades, I’m building up a team in a 10-team, PPR league with random users on ESPN. This is posted every Thursday, right before the TNF game! |
