By Steven Keehner I’m not one for getting sick. Whenever I get sick, it comes and goes within a day or two, but what happened this past week was different: I had the flu and a fucking stomach bug. There haven’t been many moments in my life where I’ve thought to myself, “Shit, I’m going to die”, but this was 100% one of those moments. So, if this part isn’t up to par with the others, I apologize; I’m still not anywhere near 100%, but I don’t want to let you guys down! Without further ado, here is Week Five! While losing, again, and dropping to 1-4 is devastating for my already dwindling playoff hopes, I believe we can find a lot of encouraging signs from this game. 93.8 points is respectable for this team, it’s the second-best performance the 69er Gang has had all season. Going into Monday Night, I was only down by three, my opponent had Kyle Rudolph and I had Stefon Diggs; there was a real chance of me winning! All of my losses had been beat downs until now, so to me come so close against a team that was 100x better than mine is awesome! We still lost, and I left points on the bench again; I can’t keep stressing it every post though, it sucks, I need to do better. I made an attempt to sign Tarik Cohen for Corey Davis, but I, unfortunately, failed to win my claim for him. With time running out, I know my new players are going to have to hit some homers for me, here are the new signings for this week!
While I’m still waiting for FantasyPros to sponsor me (I'm being serious, please sponsor me), we can see I’m not projected to get destroyed this week! In all seriousness, I think I have a good chance of winning this game! While I’m not the person to judge another team, If I can nearly beat a team like the one I faced last week, I see no reason why I can’t give a guy who has a worse team a run for their money. I really need Palmer to play well this week, I know that the first time I owned him it didn’t work out too well, I think this will be different. As per usual, my WR are looking like they’re going to hurt me, again. But with no one in my league even wanting to attempt a trade, I can’t really do anything to acquire high-quality players. But I’m heading into Week Six with high hopes, I think this may finally be the week where things could turn around. Now that we’ve reviewed the game coming up this week, let’s look around the league! 1-4 is bad, no doubt, I think if I don’t win this week, I can kiss my playoff chances goodbye. Even the situation I’m in now is difficult, being three games behind is a massive hurdle. I still believe I have enough time to overcome it, I need to start winning. After seeing my team put up 93 last week, I know that my team can put up respectable numbers, I’m just going to need luck to finally fall my way this season. But all we can do is hope, right?
In Part Seven, we’ll go through our usual run through of what happened, who I signed, etc. Thank you all so much for your support here and on my website PTBSoccer.weebly.com, it means so much and I’m having so much fun writing for you all. Good luck with your games this week and let’s go Yankees! What is Undrafted? Have you ever wondered if you could win a league, without drafting a single player? No? Okay sorry. But seriously, this is an experiment I’m running to see how far this idea could go. Using only Undrafted (roll credits) Free Agents and trades, I’m building up a team in a 10-team, PPR league with random users on ESPN. This is posted every Thursday, right before the TNF game!
